# RTMify — Requirements Traceability for Regulated Industries > Free requirements traceability matrix template and tooling for AS9100, ISO 13485, DO-178C, IEC 62304, ISO 26262, and Automotive SPICE. RTMify is a compliance-aware lifecycle manager built around the spreadsheet. The core free artifact is the four-tab requirements workbook: User Needs, Requirements, Tests, and Risks. RTMify Live also supports a separate Design BOM workbook for product structure and component-to-design-control trace links. ## Products - **RTMify Template**: Free .xlsx download. Four tabs, one schema, six standards. No account required. - **RTMify Design BOM Template**: Free .xlsx download for Product + Design BOM ingestion in RTMify Live. Landing page: [Design BOM Template](https://rtmify.io/bom-template). - **RTMify SOUP Template**: Free .xlsx download for software inventory, anomaly evaluation, and SOUP ingestion in RTMify Live. Landing page: [SOUP Template](https://rtmify.io/soup-template). - **RTMify Trace**: Drop the .xlsx file, get a full RTM as PDF/DOCX/MD. Runs locally — nothing uploaded. - **RTMify Live**: Connects to Google Sheets, Excel Online, or local XLSX. Re-evaluates traceability every 30 seconds. Reads git repos for code-to-requirement mapping. Ingests Design BOMs, SOUP registers, and SBOMs. Runs an MCP server for conversational querying. ## Documentation - [Template Documentation Hub](https://rtmify.io/docs/): Overview, quick start, standard picker - [Design BOM Template](https://rtmify.io/bom-template): Landing page for the Product + Design BOM workbook and Live integration path - [SOUP Template](https://rtmify.io/soup-template): Landing page for the SOUP workbook and Live integration path - [User Needs Tab Guide](https://rtmify.io/docs/user-needs/): Field-by-field reference for the User Needs tab - [Requirements Tab Guide](https://rtmify.io/docs/requirements/): SHALL statements, ID conventions, lifecycle status - [Tests Tab Guide](https://rtmify.io/docs/tests/): Verification vs. Validation, TAID methods - [Risks Tab Guide](https://rtmify.io/docs/risks/): Severity × likelihood scoring, ISO 14971, HARA - [Status Codes Reference](https://rtmify.io/docs/status-codes/): OK, NO_TEST_LINKED, MISSING_USER_NEED, UNRESOLVED, MISSING_ID - [The Traceability Chain](https://rtmify.io/docs/traceability/): How the four tabs connect, bidirectional traceability ## Standard-Specific Quick Start Guides - [AS9100 Quick Start](https://rtmify.io/docs/for/as9100/): Aerospace quality. §8.3 design controls. - [ISO 13485 Quick Start](https://rtmify.io/docs/for/iso-13485/): Medical devices. §7.3 design controls, ISO 14971. - [DO-178C Quick Start](https://rtmify.io/docs/for/do-178c/): Airborne software. Stakeholder need, voice of customer, regulatory input. Not a solution — a problem statement. - **Requirement**: SHALL statement. One per row, uniquely identified, independently verifiable. Traces up to a User Need and down to a Test Group. - **Test Group**: Contains one or more individual tests. Linked from the Requirements tab via Test Group ID. - **Test**: Individual test case. Typed as Verification (built it right) or Validation (built the right thing). Method: Test, Analysis, Inspection, or Demonstration. - **Risk**: Hazard or failure mode with severity × likelihood scoring, pre- and post-mitigation. Links to the requirement that controls it. - **RTMify Status**: Auto-populated column on every tab. OK = fully linked. Warnings and errors flag traceability gaps before the auditor does. ## Template Schema The .xlsx file uses this cross-referencing structure: - Requirements tab Column C → User Needs tab (upstream traceability) - Requirements tab Column E → Tests tab (downstream traceability) - Risks tab Column F → Requirements tab (risk-to-mitigation linkage) ## Contact hello@rtmify.io ## Company Iron Brothers Ventures, LLC https://rtmify.io
