The RTMify template is a single .xlsx file with four tabs that satisfies traceability requirements for AS9100, ISO 13485, DO-178C, IEC 62304, ISO 26262, and ASPICE.
Quick start
- 1 Download the template.
Free .xlsx file. No account, no email. Download it here.
- 2 Fill in your data.
Populate the four tabs: User Needs, Requirements, Tests, Risks.
- 3 Run RTMify Trace.
Drop the .xlsx on RTMify Trace. Runs locally — nothing is uploaded.
- 4 Get your RTM.
Download a full requirements traceability matrix as PDF, Word, or Markdown.
The four tabs
User Needs
Top of the traceability chain. Stakeholder needs, voice of customer, regulatory inputs. Every downstream artifact traces back here.
Requirements
SHALL statements. One per row, uniquely identified, independently verifiable. Links up to a User Need and down to Test Groups.
Tests
Test groups and individual test cases. Each Test Group maps to one or more requirements.
Risks
Hazards and failure modes with severity-times-likelihood scoring, pre- and post-mitigation. Each risk links to the requirement that controls it.
Need product structure too?
The core RTM template is still the four-tab requirements workbook. If you also need Product and Design BOM tabs for item-level requirement/test trace links, use the dedicated Design BOM workbook.
