Free SOUP Template
Your software inventory needs more than a package list.
The RTMify SOUP Template gives software of unknown provenance a controlled shape: component name, version, supplier, license, safety class, known anomalies, anomaly evaluation, and direct requirement/test references. Use it as a standalone register or connect it to RTMify Live as a read-only SOUP source.

CycloneDX / SPDX
Best when your CI pipeline already emits a software BOM. RTMify Live ingests that automatically, but those sources usually do not carry anomaly evaluation or safety classification text.
SOUP Template
Best when you need a manual, auditable register with software-specific context: known anomalies, anomaly evaluation, safety class, and explicit requirement/test links.
If both target the same (full_product_identifier, "software", bom_name) key, last writer wins. If you want both inventories to coexist, give them distinct bom_name values.
How RTMify Live uses it
SOUP Sync stores one product anchor in config. Upload APIs also bind the register to one product.
Live writes software DesignBOM nodes and BOMItem component nodes, then links requirement and test IDs into the same trace graph.
The dashboard, MCP, and SOUP Register report surface anomaly documentation, unresolved refs, safety classes, and license views from that graph.
Standards mapping
| Standard | Relevant expectation | Why the template helps |
|---|---|---|
| IEC 62304 | SOUP identification and anomaly review | The sheet captures version, known anomalies, anomaly evaluation, and trace links in one controlled artifact. |
| ISO 13485 | Design output and verification evidence | Component-level links to requirements and tests give software inventory items direct design-control context. |
| DO-178C / AS9100 | Configuration visibility | Software configuration items become queryable and reportable, rather than trapped in ad hoc spreadsheet notes. |
| ISO 26262 / ASPICE | Software component trace context | Safety class and linkage columns let teams keep software inventory evidence close to requirements and verification artifacts. |

The template is free. RTMify Live is what turns it into a continuously queryable SOUP register with reports, MCP tools, and dashboard views.
